| Summer Camp 2009 was a great success
with almost every session filled to capacity with new
faces and the regular campers! We are so proud of all
of the progress the campers made. The beginners from
the tiny five year olds to teenagers all learned to
guide, trot and post in one week. Several students had
their first lessons out of the bull pen and learned
to look up and guide around the big ring. The show team
students continued to perfect their form and horsemanship
and had tons of fun learning the barrel pattern trotting
as fast as they could!
Everyone learned to clean and tack their horses. They
studied the parts of the saddle, bridle and all the
parts of the horse while sticking labeled post it’s
on Silver. The crafts were fun with T-Shirts and visors
being created and polaroids of the camers and their
horses being placed in self decorated frames. The horses
enjoyed the grain and molasses burritos the kids made
as treats.
We are so grateful to all of our volunteers and to our
grand horses all of whom worked so hard to create a
fun and safe learning experience for every White Star
Camper.
